My Philosophy
As a teacher, it is my goal to explore the piano and share my knowledge for all to enjoy. My specialty lies with music fundamentals and understanding key concepts of music. I take time to explain the theory of music and will ensure that my students excel with their foundations. It is these foundations that will determine the rest of their music journey.
Beyond the fundamentals, I believe in fostering a deep understanding of the music my students read. Through thoughtful, detailed explanations, I engage students in conversations that cover essential topics such as musicality, hand posture, sight-reading, scales and more. These discussions not only enhance their skills but also build confidence and appreciation for the art of music.
While classical music serves as a cornerstone in my teaching, I embrace modern genres to ensure lessons are diverse and enjoyable. I incorporate fun games and activities into my sessions, creating an engaging and supportive environment where students of all ages can thrive.
My lessons also extend beyond the piano itself. I encourage students to embrace their creativity by writing little songs or sketches at the end of lessons. Exploring their ideas fosters their sense of ownership over the music and opens their minds to new possibilities, enhancing their enjoyment of the craft.
My ultimate goal is to equip students with a comprehensive knowledge of music vocabulary and ideologies. This well-rounded foundation will empower them to pursue their aspirations and carry their love for music into a strong, fulfilling future.
